Emory Market Gardens is Proud to Sponsor MushFest 2025 – A Weekend of Fungi, Fun, and Community
We’re excited to announce that Emory Market Gardens is a sponsor of MushFest 2025, hosted by the North Texas Mycological Association, happening May 16–18 at the Red Wolf Intentional Community in Ivanhoe, TX—just outside Bonham. This vibrant, hands-on festival brings together mushroom lovers, science enthusiasts, and curious minds for a weekend dedicated to the fascinating world of fungi.
As a local mushroom farm passionate about education, sustainability, and community, we’re thrilled to be part of this one-of-a-kind event.
Come Visit Us at Our Booth
All weekend long, Emory Market Gardens will be hosting a booth where festival-goers can meet our team, explore our mushroom cultivation supplies, and chat with us about mushroom cultivation, identification, recipes, and more. Whether you're a longtime fungi fan or just getting started, we’re here to help you dig deeper into the wonderful world of mushrooms.
What’s Happening at MushFest?
This year’s event is packed with expert presentations, interactive workshops, and guided forays, all designed to immerse attendees in the science and wonder of fungi. Here are just a few of the highlights:
8 expert-led presentations on mycology, species identification, cultivation, and more
10+ hours of guided forays, including a special biodiversity survey in the Caddo National Grasslands
Hands-on workshops on mushroom cultivation, microscopy, and cooking
Nighttime UV forays to explore bioluminescent fungi
Live music, entertainment, and community potlucks
Deep fried mushroom cook-off, open mic night, and fire spinning
Camping included with weekend passes
New this year is a Special Collections & DNA Sequencing Program, conducted in partnership with the United States Forest Service, aimed at cataloging fungal biodiversity in the region. This citizen science initiative invites all attendees to contribute to real-world research efforts by collecting, documenting, and helping sequence over 150 unique fungal species.
